"Between the animal and the artifact, we become not only the source of the monstrous but also, an illusory and utopian creature."
Dystopia and impressionism, sci-fi and death–Adrian Narvaez Caicedo’s mind looks like a dangerous place. “My paintings give place to a narration inside a space that sways between fiction and the simulation of dreams, but beckons us to recognize them as a fragment of reality that has been recorded through the tradition of painting.” Adrian combines the classic and the profane to unsettle and evoke. "I’m fascinated for this constant uncertainty and ambiguity where the delicate and atrocious can coexist," Says Adrian. Memories that never happened, nostalgia for the future, nightmares and night vision–this is the visual language of his conversations with the unconscious. This conversation is whispered hoarsely, in conspiratorial tones. And PotatoMike wants you to listen in.
