Star Gallery is a gallery focusing on discovery and promoting of young Chinese artists. Through exhibitions, publications, the gallery grows together with the young artists. Since its founding in 2005, Star Gallery has established close relationship with a number of cutting-edge artists, including Chen Fei, Chen Ke, Chen Tianzhuo, Gao Yu, Huang Yuxing, Jin Nü, Ou Yangchun, Qiu Jiongjiong, Sun Yanchu, Wang Yifan, Wei Jai, Wen Ling, Xu Maomao, and Yan Cong, remarkable among the emerging artists. 798 Photo Gallery – The first art gallery dedicated to photography in China was established in April 2003. Its unique design is based on the original structure of the Bauhaus styled factory aided by East Germany. The gallery aims to discover and collect fine photography works, and provides a platform for cultural and commercial exchange in order to help photographers.

Egg Gallery is a Chinese art gallery with a combination of permanent and temporary art exhibitions, and it also boasts antiques and furniture. The artists on display are both local and international, and at the moment they boast Xu Ruotao, Alain Urrutia, Wu Zhenhuan and Martin Wehmer. Galleria Continua’s centre in Beijing, a 1000 m2 space in the 798 Art District, was opened in 2005 as a result of desire to show contemporary Western artists in an area where they were still little seen and largely unknown. Through this new channel of communication Galleria Continua has initiated a process of dialogue between East and West, bringing two different cultural and operating models – each filled with stimulating prospects – together. Founded in 1991 by Brian Wallace who first arrived in China in 1984, Red Gate Gallery is the first private contemporary art gallery to be established in China.
