In May 2006, art market history was made when Christie's held its first auction of International Modern & Contemporary Art in the Middle East. Founded in April 2002 by Hicham DAOUDI, the Moroccan Company of Art Works and Items is the first auction house in Morocco. On December 28 of that same year, the CMOOA inaugurated its activities within the prestigious setting of La Mamounia hotel in Marrakech. In January 2004, the CMOOA equipped itself with an auction room in the heart of Casablanca. An exhibition and auction place which now hosts events regularly, that meet an increasingly numerous public of art lovers and institutional investors.
