Born in Beirut in 1975, from a family of artists and musicians. Paul did his first painting at the age of 7, reproducing the picture of a Japanese Geisha from a coffee tray. He was then introduced to oil painting at the age of 8 by his grand aunt, and his family very quickly noticed his talent. Paul lived all his childhood in Beirut, during the 15 years’ civil war where he used to spend hours drawing and painting his environment made of anxiety and laughter.
He continued to do so throughout his life and experienced his “up and down moments” through his art that he used as a therapeutic way to express his feeling. He uses major mediums in his work, like oil paint, sanguine, ink, charcoal or acrylic paint on canvas or paper.
His work is full of emotions with a touch of sarcasm, covering various subjects such as couples, love, family, and more recently a series on his city Beirut, as he sees it.
