There is knowledge in art. This is my knowledge and my faith. I am a professor, a scientist, a politician, a doctor, a preacher, a nobody. This is the artist. I study the rhythm and presence of me and you and them. The human being beating, breathing, gaining, and losing.
In making I choose between skill and the beauty of the lack of skill. Through using the thread and needle I can manipulate the line through points building up a painting of thread. The thread is a commitment that has the solidarity of an ink line but is tender, compulsive, and violent. I am consistently collaborating with time or with another person. I am patient in my work. This dialogue is what I am interest in.
As I watch my daughter throw feathers in the air and try to catch them, I am inspired by her beginning. Who are we? I am interested in curating a knowledge of these things without boundaries.
I am not an outsider, I am not an academic. I am human and this is the evidence I leave.
