At the beginning of 2011, Nicolas Beurret and Emmanuel Bailly founded the auction house Beurret & Bailly Auktionen in Basel. Thus the city on the Rhine, famous for its distinguished museums and its internationally renowned galleries, launched its first auction house that specialises in fine art. Every year, important international events such as Art Basel attract numerous art lovers and collectors and that makes the city the perfect place for a young and dynamic company. Beurret & Bailly Auktionen specialises in the sale of paintings, works on paper and sculpture by various artists and from different periods. Christie's Zürich, located next to the famous Kunsthaus, was opened in 1978. In 1991 the first Christie’s Swiss Art auction took place in the Kunsthaus, as Zurich is the buying and auction platform for collectors interested in Swiss Art from the 18th to the 21st century. Christie's Zurich hosts regularly single owner sales, the most recent one being the estate of Bruno Giacometti in 2013.

Christie’s Geneva lies at the heart of the city’s historic center, in a listed 16th century building once used as a dormitory for monks from the nearby Cathedral. In June 1968, the firm's first ever auction in Switzerland included a collection of porcelain bearing a Royal provenance. Over the years, more than 250 auctions have been organized in various categories of art. 
 

 

Dobiaschofsky Auktionen AG

August Dobiaschofsky arrived in Bern together with his family before the First World War. In 1923, he opened an art store that included a gilding and frames workshop, later transformed into a gallery. When his son Hans Dobiaschofsky took over the successful family business in the late 50’s, he implemented his idea of an auction house and on April 10 and 11, 1959, he carried out the first art and antiques auction. After approximately 70 auction sales over the following 3 decades, in 1989, the Dobiaschofsky Gallery found in Marius J. Heer the new owner.
