Description: This painting is quite large which makes it almost monumental and virtually epic. The size emphasizes the vastness of child fantasy, the importance of play as well as the big part that real conflict takes in the lives of people in Karim’s part of the world. The game is war and its being played at the steps of a friend’s house where Karim, his brother and his neighbors are acting out an an attack on what they have established is their military headquarters consequently forcing them to take cover and fight back as they are also being shelled and will probably not survive the assault.
